How Our Network Works

Request an estimate

Who will you talk to?

After you send a request, a provider in our network contacts you. That provider is an independent local business. It is not Mechanicaltears Walk-In Tubs. The person on the phone or at your door works for that provider, and the provider does the work.

What might the provider ask?

Expect a few friendly questions. They help the provider give you a useful quote.

  • Who will use the bath, and what is hard for them today?
  • Do you want a tub, a shower, or are you unsure?
  • How big is the bathroom, and where are the doors and tub?
  • What is the floor like, and is there a basement below?
  • When would you like the work to happen?

Photos can help. So can a rough sketch.

Questions worth asking a provider

You are hiring someone to work in your home. So ask, then compare.

  • Can I have the quote in writing? A good answer lists the scope, materials and what is not included.
  • How long will my bathroom be unusable? A good answer gives a range and a plan for daily routines.
  • Do you hold the licenses and insurance my area requires? A good answer is a simple yes, plus proof you can see.
  • Who does the work, and who cleans up? A good answer is specific.

Red flags? Pressure to sign today, a vague quote, a refusal to show paperwork, or a request for the full payment up front. Slow down if you hear any of these.

You stay in charge

Talking to a provider does not lock you in. You can ask for more than one estimate. You can take time to think. Costs vary by job, and typical U.S. prices for these projects span a wide range, so a written quote is the only number that counts.
